Define patience
Patience. Illustration by Mike F Leonen. ©2008 mike f leonen. All rights reserved. No use, copy or distribution without prior permission.
What is patience? Here are my definitions:
Patience is trying to stack up domino pieces while your 2-year old is inches away.
Patience is telling your 5-year old that he could ask you any question he wants and his questions include: "What is a question? What is what? What is is?"
Patience is standing in line in a crowded Starbucks while your 5-year old and 2-year old talk about knowing that Daddy is up in the morning when they hear a loud fart.
How about you? What's your definition of patience?

=> I'd call that naivity, hubris or insanity ;)
And the farting thing: yep my little nephew have made such a public announcement about me in public once as well. You gotta love their honesty :p

Hmmmm...how about Patience is letting your toddler buckle the car seat buckle "himself" while the baby is screaming for the cat to start moving so he can fall asleep.

Patience is teaching your teenager to drive.
Patience is waiting for the day when they finally "get" all those lessons you repeat 10 million times...
Patience is doing 14 loads of laundry per week.
Patience is teaching your children how to cook (or clean, or fix thing, etc.), when you could do it much faster yourself

That graphic rocks;) I have no idea what patience is. Not sure I've ever witnessed it;)))

Patience is not ripping your hair out by the roots at the 17th straight hour of non-stop talking from one of your kids, ha ha.
I love them to death, but I'm often amazed at the sheer volume of words they have.

Kids keep you humble, that's for SURE!

Patience is trying not to cry when your 11month old baby spills red kool-aid all over your pants...when you have on cream pants...and you at a rollerskating rink for a birthday party.

I'm new here. I linked over from 2nd Cup (Linda). This post made me laugh - as a mama to 3 young ones I can feel your pain. :)
Patience is walking several hundred yards across the park for your son to pee only to find all of the doors are locked and he now has to pee around a corner next to the building.
Patience is keeping your children alive up through adulthood despite endless embarrassment and exhaustion. God knew what he was doing when he made them cute. ;)

Hahaha! I can TOTALLY relate! My definition of patience would be letting your 2.5 year old give you a premature waddle by pinching and poking your throat for a full hour -- just so you can catch a few minutes of shut-eye!!! (Ahhh the weirdness of toddler self-soothing!)

I loved this post because it is very timely. Parents today need a lot of patience when teaching their teens and kids. For me, patience is endurance.
