Signs my 4-year old is growing up:
Physical—My 4-year old brags about the hair in his chest (there are about 3 of them, a quarter of a quarter of an inch tall). Also, after playing, he tells me, "Look, Daddy, my armpit is sweaty."
Emotional—My 4-year old is attuned to his feelings (and mine). "Daddy, I love you," he says unexpectedly. "Does that make you happy? Can I have some chocolate now?"
Mental—My 4-year old is getting smarter.
"Daddy, do you want to hear a joke?" my 4-year old asked one time.
"Sure," I said.
"Are you sure?" he asked, very serious.
"Sure I'm sure," I said.
"Are you very sure?"
Uh-huh.
"You're handsome," he said.
He laughed hard. Then he walked away.
Donkey.
My 4-year old turns 5 this week.

How very true. Those points make me smile but I can see a little boy saying/doing all those things!

Thank you for the great giggles!!!! I love the little guys - mine is so sweet! When he's not punching me in the butt for not paying attention to him... I'm hoping he'll outgrow that soon.

Very cute! Wow, 5. Harrison just turned 3, crazy. It goes so fast.
He made his first joke laying in bed with us one morning; he turns to daddy and says, "I'm sick...Nice to meet you."
And once in a while I get the pure love, which leave me in "Smoothie Heaven".
Have a great week!

Ohhh, my 4yo son is turning 5 in May. Your emotional evidence was right on track with where my son is. And your kid had a great sense of humor!! His joke cracked me up - but his delivery was priceless!
