Know the song, anyone?

Are you in a helping mood today? Do you know the lyrics of the song that starts with:

Where Is Thumbkin
Where Is Thumbkin
Here I Am
Here I Am

My 4-year old asked me the lyrics one morning and I said I don't know. That's the problem. He came out with his own version:

Where Is Pinky
Where Is Pinky
Here I Am
Here I Am
What Have You Been Doing Today
Picking Out The Boogers
Run Away
Run Away

Again, if you know the lyrics, let me know. Please.

Ah, somewhat useless information. My specialty.

Where is Thumbkin
Where is Thumbkin
Here I am
Here I am
How are you today sir?
Very well I thank you.
Run away
Run away

You put both hands behind your back, and then as you sing, bring them around, each thumb up, and move them like they are 'talking' to each other. You can do it with all five fingers if you want, they each have a name....Thumbkin, Pointer, Tall Man, Ring Man, and Pinky.

Although I think that your kiddo might be onto something with that version of his...

Ditto what Maggie said. She just beat me to it. :) I sing this all the time but make up all kinds of words (morning songs, getting dressed, "where is mommy?" for peekaboo, etc.). Easy tune to sing to kids and change up the words.

It's also the same tune to Frere Jacques
Frère Jacques, Frère Jacques,
Dormez-vous? Dormez-vous?
Sonnez les matines! Sonnez les matines!
Din, dan, don. Din, dan, don.

or in English:

Brother John
Brother John
Are you sleeping?
Are you sleeping?
Morning bells are ringing
Morning bells are ringing
Ding dong ding
ding dong ding

too late... was all excited that I was gonna get to help you out...

Blessings,
Karla

Too much information and kids . . .
*roll of the eyes*
Remind me to tell you why it is better NOT to use anatomically correct body part names when describing to your 3 1/2 year old the process of birth.

Well, I think his is very creative! Although, the pinky isn't the best finger for that action... (not that I would know, of course).

LOL!!!

Then there would be Harrison's version:

Where is Pumpkin
Where is Pumpkin

Here I am
Here I am

Let's go eat some cookies
Let's go make a smoothie

Come on Mommy
Come on Mommy

Yup. That's my life.

I kinda like your son's version, although not a very pretty sight, hahaha.
